A unique geological site in France, the fossilized oyster caves date back 22 million years. Accumulated at the bottom of the seas during the Tertiary era, the oysters found themselves overhanging the valley after tectonic movements and the retreat of the waters. Erosion dug caves into the thickness of the bed, which are still used today to preserve the sweet white wine. Bonus? A magnificent panorama of the Sauternes region.

bof pas top
l'office du tourisme nous l'avait recommandé, mais quelle déception, on demande la planche de charcuterie et de fromage mais la serveuse nous répond comme on propose un menu salade + fruits, c'est compliqué donc on se rabat sur le choix proposé, à notre grande stupeur on s'aperçoit que d'autres tables on eu ce qu'on aurait aimé avoir et qu'il avait des huîtres aussi, mais la serveuse ne nous les a pas proposé, carafe d'eau pas fraîche, le verre de vin liquoreux à 6€ belle arnaque et 18 € une salade gourmande et en dessert ananas + pastèque, bien trop cher

When you look at the fossils we really have trouble imagining the sea has this height… but siiiiii… see a magnificent view on the garner, you can enjoy a beautiful walk in the vineyards.
