We had a wonderful wine tasting visit with our guide, Lea; she was so well-versed in all things related to grapes, wine, soil, climate, and everything that goes into making the delicious wines of this region. She is well-versed in all things historic, French and European and was able to educate us on all fronts while being warm, professional, and joyful. Her presence and expertise was a wonderful addition to our day. We were happy to purchase three bottles and look forward to every sip. Highly recommend!

Audrey our fabulous host and winery guide at Chateau Balestard La Tonnelle in Saint -Emilion had great knowledge, sense of humour and was happy to answer our questions regarding the vines and wines including processes. We stopped here as a part of a day tour from Bordeaux to Saint-Emilion. We really enjoyed the tour and run through the wine making process as well as a great tasting. Our host was fantastic running the tour in French and English simultaneously!

Coming to Bordeaux for a wine tour during the high season (April), make sure you book a visit in advance. Luckily in Château Balestard La Tonnelle we’ve got a free spot for an excursion and degustation. The place is quite old and has own interesting history, being owned by the family. Due to the production scale is not huge, you may feel the real taste of Bordeaux in a glass, see the production line, the vineyard itself. Save some time to visit their shop where you can purchase a couple of bottles and local souvenirs. Great plus is that both affordable and more unique wines are available, for any wallet.

We booked via Bordeaux Tourist Board, we did not want to blow 198 euros on a tour of a vineyard and wine tasting.Audrey took care of us and was extremely informative with great English and great personality. Audrey has a wonderful grasp of wine in the region. The history and development of wine in the region. Great chateau tour and vineyard followed by a wine tasting with some great handmade local chocolates which was a superb accompaniment for the wines. Thank you Audrey for going the extra mile and thank you Chateau Balestard La Tonelle for a great day.

Ein wunderschönes modernes Weingut innitten der Weinberge von St. Emilion!! Wir wurden von Audrey durch das Weingut geführt und sie hat uns auf charmante Weise unglaublich viele Informationen gegeben, und das in perfektem Englisch! Die verschiedenen Weine, die wir probieren durften wurden toll erklärt, so da man auch gut die Unterschiede schmecken konnte. Es war sehr informativ und hat Spaß gemacht! Vielen Dank!

Superbe ! À tous les niveaux. Simplicité, sens de l'écoute, nous avons été accompagnés par l'un des propriétaires du Château, qui, avec une gentillesse infinie, nous a accordé son temps et sa réflexion. Dégustations bien sûr, mais pas que... Histoire de la famille, problèmes des viticulteurs de la région, idées nouvelles et créativité. Un lieu de grande classe, une boutique excellemment bien achalandée, une entreprise gérée par de grands et authentiques professionnels.

Ma grand-mère et moi avons fait la visite guidée en espagnol du château lors de notre passage à Saint-Émilion et nous avons toutes les deux beaucoup apprécié l’expérience. Les explications étaient toujours très claires et notre guide était très sympathique, ouverte à répondre à toutes nos questions de manière précise. Les deux vins que nous avons dégustés étaient vraiment très bons, avec une préférence personnelle pour le Cap de Mourlin 2016 :)

Nous avons passé un moment remarquable lors de la dégustation de vin. Léa a fait preuve d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle, acceptant même notre retard de 25 minutes, et a pris le temps de nous expliquer en détail le vignoble, les différents vins, tout en nous posant des questions. Le domaine lui-même est un lieu d'exception, et les vins y sont exquis ! Je recommande vivement cette visite !

Da non perdere la splendida terrazza che offre una vista eccezionale sui vigneti di st Emilion e dove si può aoprexzare il vino prodotto dallo Château che di distingue in realtà come proveniente da tre diverse tenute successivamente acquisite dai proprietari e di diversa qualità. La visita in lingua inglese (non è disponibile in italiano e rigorosamente da prenotare telefonicamente) è a pagamento (forse per il periodo festivo ci è apparsa un po’ asettica e frettolosa) come la degustazione. Forse il mese di agosto non è il momento migliore per cogliere la passione della produzione di un vino così importante.

Visita espectacular en español. Duración 1:30h donde hemos conocido los viñedos y la bodega. Al final hemos disfrutado de una cata a ciegas de 3 vinos. Muy recomendable.

Assolutamente da visitare questa cantina. Si estende per ettari nella località di Saint Emilion, a perdita d’occhio si vedono i vigneti della vicina Montagne. Ottimo il vino, di cui abbiamo fatto incetta, anche se non così a buon mercato come se fossimo andati dai piccoli viticoltori. La differenza in qualità al mio palato è netta. Molto brave e preparate le ragazze che ci hanno seguito nella degustazione.

Muy amables y dispuestos. La bodega es espectacular, la terraza, las instalaciones todo un 10. Todo el entorno es estupendo y con unas vistas a los viñedos espectaculares. La guia en español muy amable y un discurso interesante. Los vinos excelentes. Volveremos. Gracias por todo
