Medieval castle classified as a Historic Monument in 1862, with a high keep and a tower of honor with a palm vault
Witness to the Hundred Years War, the Château de Rauzan was taken twice by the French, including Bertrand du Guesclin in 1377. Classified in 1862 by the Monuments Historiques, it was only reborn in the minds of the public in the 1970s when the commune, which had owned it since 1900, and a few enthusiasts undertook work to clear the brush and restore it. After climbing the 31 metres of the keep, you can admire the magnificent palm vault of its tower of honour.
