castle with multiple uses. Sold to the USSR embassy in 1945 and still owned by Russia today.
Built in the 17th century, the château has served a number of purposes over the years: in the 18th century, it was the meeting place of the Ermitage Saint-Sauveur brotherhood; in the 19th century, it was the summer residence of Anne de la Force (Louis XVIII's favorite); and at the end of the 19th century, it was bought by Baron Laurent-Atthalin. The composer E. Chausson died here in 1899 in a bicycle accident in the park. In 1945, it was sold to the USSR embassy, which converted it into a rest home for Soviet diplomats. Today, it is still owned by Russia.
