BEAUMONT-SUR-OISE CASTLE
The ruins of a vast medieval castle stand atop the old town of Beaumont-sur-Oise
At the top of the old town of Beaumont-sur-Oise, stand the ruins of a vast medieval fortress. A first fortified structure had been built there by the Gallo-Romans in the 3rd century on this rocky spur. In the 10th century, a collegiate church, then a parish church were built there. In the 12th century, the whole became a real castrum. The last transformation of the castle dates back to the 18th century. The ensemble was then restored in 1997.
