TRIGGER DOCTOR'S HOUSE
House of Dr. Paul Gachet, an artist who was involved in painting, sculpture, engraving
Doctor Paul Gachet (1828-1909) settled in Auvers-sur-Oise in 1872; this wise collector received many painters in his house. Among them were impressionist artists, starting with Pissarro. Cézanne followed, as did Van Gogh, whom he welcomed when he arrived in Auvers in 1890. Gachet was also an artist, and in the studio at the back of the house, he practiced painting, sculpture and engraving. The visit of this house is free, but reservation is advised!
