GALERIE THADDAEUS ROPAC PANTIN
The story is classic and happy: it is an old factory (in this case a boiler factory) that did not become an unclaimed property as it has become a place that is dedicated to contemporary art. Thaddaeus Ropac which is well-known in that sector as it has exhibition spaces in the Marais, but also in London and Salzburg, uses the vast spaces to exhibit monumental works - some of them. The old red brick walls have been preserved outdoors and contrast with the pristine white that dresses walls, floors and ceilings inside. Totally integrated into the bustling cultural environment of north-eastern Paris, the gallery welcomes concerts, performances and various debates. The place has a coffee-shop which is nicely called Café Bleu where you can recover from your emotions, share and discuss.
