The camaraderie between the monsieur and the patrons makes this place an absolute gem. Such a characterful place, not to be missed. My boyfriend recommends the bœuf bourguignon ????

This was an absolute delight - the food was delicious. I had the onion soup which was one of the tastiest I’ve had as well as was the beef with potato gratinee, veggies and a wonderful mushroom gravy. The owner/chef - Lillian, was such a dear. I chatted with other patrons which gave it a familiar convivial feel.

Great expectations basing on reviews… I never found such a gap between reviews and reality. Let’s start from the pros: the foie gras was at the level of the comments made by others. The rest of the food… the escargot were coming without the shell. A no go considering the other ones I could taste in these few days in Paris. We then went for magret de canard and cow au vin. Canard was just cooked as a steak and oil completely covered the taste. The coq was (to me) not cooked long enough and chewy.
Location: is very particular, with some medieval style drawings on the walls. Unfortunately the dining room in the ground floor, where we were eating, is very small and surrounded by the desk of the bar and the kitchen that, being part of the room, is letting clients with a strong smell of grilling meat. Maybe a table on the second floor would be a better choice.
Service: the 2 persons serving were nice and super active. Unfortunately the quality of the service was a bit messy and improvised: the table clothes removed from the previous clients were cumulated here and there, the orders being delivered to the tables originated some noisy discussions between the person in the kitchen and the waiter, and lastly the “chef” was, not getting into details, not properly dressed for being in the kitchen of a Restaurant in the center of Paris. Bill could have been appropriate to what we ordered, but quality was not at the same Level. All in all, the this restaurant is over-rated. I have found more balanced the ratings given to „Petit Baccus“, the previous Name of the Restaurant (still reported on the bill you get)

Adresse a recommander..

I was really looking forward to coming here but it was a bit of a let down. It was all very disorganised and uncomfortable with a general lack of service. The price and portion size are okay but the wine was really expensive and food just okay.

Cassoulet was wonderful as was the eggplant gratin. Tiny little place with 20 seats downstairs and the matron of the house was very nice. Highly recommend for a cool day in Paris

Great restaurant. My wife and I had the boeuf bourguignon and it was incredible. Pair it with a nice red wine and you will be in for a deluxe meal for a reasonable price!

We had an early dinner here at the Aux Anysetiers Du Roy on Île Saint-Louis, and it was delicious! We could see the chef from our table, and our server was very accommodating and had a witty sense of humour. Seeing the attached pictures makes me wish we were still in Paris so we could go eat there again!
