NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS CATHEDRAL
After the reopening of Notre-Dame's restored nave on December 8, 2024, the towers have been accessible since September 20. After years of construction following the fire on April 15, 2019, Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris has been restored to its former glory, thanks to the work of hundreds of journeymen, architects, carpenters and sculptors. As soon as you enter the cathedral, you'll be overwhelmed by the unique perspective of this masterpiece of Gothic art, now accessible to the public, but also by the feeling of rediscovering a monument that has been entirely renovated in accordance with the rules of the art, restoring the building to its original vocation and splendor. Paintings, sculptures, woodwork, devotional and confessional rooms, chapels, stained glass windows and the organ, bringing Notre-Dame closer to its original physiognomy, are sublimated by the restored whiteness of the stone. Numerous panels provide all the information you need, including details of the extensive excavations that have been carried out, including the discovery of human remains that could be those of Joachim du Bellay. The towers, which were feared to have collapsed during the fire, are also now accessible: after climbing hundreds of steps, you'll have a breathtaking view of the capital!
