Whenever I go to Paris, I choose to have dinner at this restaurant. This time it wasn't so pleasant to my surprise. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and as soon as we arrived the receptionist was very unfriendly. They placed us outside the restaurant in a corridor that is completely unacceptable considering the amount spent. There should be an option in the reservation whether the person wants to stay inside or outside. And since there is no option to ask for preference, it is the least bit of respect for the customer.

I only had drinks while stopping by. Chez Julien is such a gorgeous restaurant with very friendly staff offering prompt services.

Bravo à toute l’équipe de Chez Julien pour la superbe soirée que nous avons passée hier soir. Tout d’abord un grand merci à Olivier pour l’organisation de cette prestation, à Emma pour le service impeccable et pour sa gentillesse et sa disponibilité, et bien sûr à l’équipe de cuisine pour les mets raffinés et savoureux qu’ils nous ont préparés! Le petit salon où nous avons célébré les fiançailles de notre fils est un endroit magique qui a grandement contribué à la réussite de cette soirée! Encore merci à tous ????

I was so excited to go to Chez Julien bass in the reviews. First the table. I realize that Paris bistros are small but we were wedged so closely between another table and a wall and my husband was miserably uncomfortable because he didn’t have enough space to sit and comfortably enjoy his meal.
Then the food. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out well done and flavorless. I ordered it with truffle and it didn’t come out with truffle. They brought me some halfway through my meal but the truffle was very cold and was shaved by the hostess (not a chef). It was large cold apices instead of the fine shavings that they put in everything else.
This should have been our best meal but instead was our worst meal. Very disappointed.

Great food, great ambience, very helpful staff. Had the truffles deviled eggs, ravioles (which was excellent), duo de canard, and sea bass. Le Francais was a nice cocktail to start.

Surtout n’y allez pas ! Recommandé par l’hôtel, ce restaurant est à éviter absolument. Nous avons été placé dans une salle annexée au restaurant, surchauffée, exiguë. Impossible de changer de table. Je suppose que les étrangers ne sont pas les bienvenus. On nous sert un vin rosé chaud et bouchonné ! Et la chef de salle vient nous trouver en disant que le vin n’est pas bouchonné. Quel manque de connaissance du vin, quel manque de respect vis à vis des clients ! Je suis donc parti en payant la bouteille d’eau et nous avons trouvé de la place juste en face dans une vraie brasserie avec toutes les qualités attendues.

Un lieu magique mais ... inadapté au froid (terrasse) au service erratique (hôtesses adorables, chef de rang souvent absent, serveurs débordés). Nourriture française de qualité (manifestement de bons produits), bonne carte de vins. Une adresse pour touristes et amateurs de lieu "parisiens" fortunés.

Terrasse végétalisée très agréable et peu bruyante. Bon service bienveillant, cuisine bonne mais trop de saveurs à la truffe dans tous les plats. Prix un peu excessifs par rapport à la composition de l'assiette. Je recommande le foie gras. Julien reste un restaurant agréable mais le chef devrait évoluer en fonction des critiques.

How to explain it better? Except that it was a magical night.
It remember me the beauty of my city, in the heart of Le Marais.
Eating the wonderful specialties of France and watching the monumental architecture of Paris around.
