It's an institution in more ways than one: located in a small street behind the Théâtre du Châtelet, La Robe et le Palais has been offering faultless bistronomic cuisine for over 20 years, undoubtedly among the best in the capital, created by chef Arsène Nesterenko and based on carefully selected produce. Originality and tradition are also reflected in the natural wines on offer, with dozens of vintages to choose from. A word about the setting: authentic and warm, with its stone walls and red leather banquettes.

Food was good ..oysters very good , ceviche was good w tasty sauce though somewhat oddly cut in larger pies than expected. Steak was good and perfectly medium rare..Presentation of food was nothing exceptional , but fine. Wine was fine and presentation by waiter was different offering tastings to determine our preferences from wines he paired with our food selections…admittedly we are not a discriminating wine customer . Atmosphere is a classic small rustic French restaurant w outside service. Our waitress was new (first service)but very nice and took care of us, asking for food prep and assistance about food details
