사실, 파리에 와서 먹은 바게트는 특별히 맛있진 않았다. 오히려 페이스트리가 훌륭했다. 그러나 이 곳은 정말 맛있는 잠봉을 파는 곳이다.
흙더미처럼 마구잡이로 쌓여있는 잠봉 중에서 채소, 치즈, 햄이 들어간 균형잡힌 잠봉 샌드위치를 골랐는데, 정말 압도적인 맛이었다. 밸런스 잡힌 맛은 기본이고, 담백하면서 진한 햄과 가벼운 자극을 주는 마요네즈 소스. 분명히 별거 없어보이는 조합이었지만, 남은 평생의 아침식사로 대체해도 좋을 맛이다.
반면에, 방울 토마토 파이? 너무 짠 피자 소스를 퍼먹는 맛이라 먹다가 버렸다. 이걸 산 내 잘못이다. 미안하다, 도저히 못 먹겠다.
