Jean Carette and his wife Madeleine opened their pastry shop on the Place du Trocadéro in 1927. Carette has since changed, but without really changing: the tables are still made of marble, the mirrors have kept their 1930s appearance and the waitresses their white apron, but the terrace has been extended to better enjoy the view of the Trocadéro and the Eiffel Tower. The classics of this 16th arrondissement institution are the Paris Carette, the chocolate éclair, the Saint-Honoré, the Choco choc, the apple pie, without forgetting of course the one that has made the reputation of the establishment, the macaroon, available in small or big size to share during a birthday. The prices are in line with the standing of the house.

The service was excellent. We were initially seated at a table we didn’t like, but when we asked to move, the staff kindly accommodated us without hesitation and gave us a much better spot.
Highly recommend going early in the morning to avoid long lines we went early and were seated immediately. Great overall experience!
