LOMBARD RESIDENCE-WORKSHOP

Contemporary architecture

Pierre Patout (1879-1965), a French architect, close to the international style inspired himself in his constructions of the liners he had built, influencing the liner style of a generation. This huge studio residence is an interesting example. At the angle of two streets, its heavy and frank openings on the sky thanks to its glass workshops exposes the last floor that overcomes the architecture of its volumes in the light. The house is part of the 1930 s course proposed by the city of Boulogne-Billancourt.

JOSEPH BERNARD WORKSHOP

Contemporary architecture

Property of sculptor Joseph Bernard from 1921. The artist's workshop was built by architect Charles Hackle, and furniture by the cabinetmaker Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann. The house and workshop retain certain stages of the work of Joseph Bernard; presentation of works in the house and workshop (casting, watercolours, bronze editions…). On the other hand, we can see the Frise of Dance, sculpture of the artist embedded in the facade of the facade. The property is part of Boulogne-Billancourt's «1930 s course».

RESIDENCE-WORKSHOP FRORIEP DE SALIS

André Lurçat (1894-1970) is in the half-wars considered one of the most prominent representatives of international style in France, with Le Corbusier and Mallet-Stevens. With its large horizontal bay overlooking an artist's workshop, and its cement pergola that extends to the entrance, André Lurçat executes a work that announces his participation in the architecture section of the Autumn salon. The villa was designed in 1927 and remains a significant trace of the architect's impetuosity. Boulogne-Billancourt includes it in its course of the 1930 s.
