MIROMESNIL CASTLE
The château boasts a vegetable garden that has been awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label.
Controversy rages as to whether Guy de Maupassant was born in this château or in the less "aristocratic" Fécamp. But in the end, it doesn't matter, because Miromesnil doesn't need this famous birth to illustrate four centuries of architecture in an exceptional way. With a Louis XIII façade, a Henri IV façade and 19th-century wings, it has been awarded the "Maison des illustres" label. As for the kitchen garden, it has been awarded the "Jardin remarquable" label. The park is superb, with its beech grove, flowering kitchen garden and bicentenary cedar... Tip for Maupassant fans: Etretat is nearby, so don't hesitate to visit La Guillette (route de Criquetôt l'Esneval), the house the author of Bel-Ami had built there, to immerse yourself in his world...
