Feudal castle on a cliff overlooking the Seine Valley, watching over the valley, including the old and the new castle.

From Tancarville-Haut, the superb view over the Seine Valley makes the arrival at the ruins of the castle impressive. When you see it, you immediately understand the strategic position of this feudal fortress, proudly clinging to its cliff and watching over the valley. One can distinguish the old castle from the 12th and 16th centuries, and the new castle built between 1709 and 1717, whose rather rare architectures alone are worth the detour. For the anecdote, Maurice Leblanc, Arsène Lupin’s father, lived there and evokes it in several of his works.
