This splendid Renaissance-style castle is located on the right bank of the Seine, between the Brotonne and Tancarville bridges.

Château d'Ételan is an architectural marvel, perched atop a cliff overlooking the Seine. Dating from the late ^15th century, it is the first Renaissance-style château built in France, with a magnificent chapel comparable to those on the Loire. Listed as a Monument Historique, it has welcomed many kings and queens, as well as personalities such as Voltaire and Eiffel. Surrounded by a verdant park with century-old trees, the château offers a breathtaking view over the meadows and the river. It's a very interesting way to discover a piece of French history.

Opening time and information on EXTINGUISHED CASTLE

Open from June to September. For groups, open from Easter to All Saints' Day on reservation. Park and chapel open from 11am to 7pm. Château and exhibition also open from 3pm to 7pm. Free for children under 12 ("individual" visit - full adult rate: €10.00 (duration 1h)). Group visit + breakfast or snack (+ 15 people): €15.50 (duration 2h). Adult "group" visit (+ 15 people): €8.00 (duration 1h30). Free admission for individual members of the Association des Amis du Parc et du Château d'Etelan. Guided tour.
