The Palais de Justice in Rouen’s superb Gothic architecture is also the former Parliament of Normandy.

Formerly the Parliament of Normandy, the Palais de Justice comprises a main building begun in 1508 by order of Louis XII, and two wings. Built on the remains of the city’s former Jewish quarter, it is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that today houses the Court of Assizes, among other buildings. The interior is richly decorated, and on its facades you can see the remains of bullet holes dating back to 1944. In the courtyard, the remains of a Jewish building have been unearthed, and the Hebrew graffiti has recently been renovated.

impressionnant édifice de style gothique et renaissance en plein coeur du vieux Rouen. même si comme moi vous ne le voyez que de l'extérieur il faut absolument
le voir.

Situé en plein centre ville, le palais de justice est le bâtiment à voir pour son architecture extérieure mais aussi intérieure. de la dentelle de pierre restaurée , avec gargouilles et cour pavée. salle des pas perdus avec plafond bois en forme de coque de bateau inversé remarquable. salle d'audience d'époque avec boiserie et peinture.

Architecture impressionnante pour ce bâtiment. Nous ne sommes pas rentrés à l'intérieur, mais nous avons seulement pu voir l'extérieur... Il fait partie du tour de la ville à pied prévu par l'office du tourisme
