A very well-known establishment in Rouen which offers classic cuisine, on the terrace or in the dining room.
Behind the Venetian curtains that give the brewery a warm light, the Exchequer is one of the most famous establishments in the centre of Rouen. Yet, although it is unavoidable because of its location and large terrace, it does not win all the votes. It has to be said that in addition to an unusually classic cuisine and without too much interest, the quality of the service is far from being at the meeting, especially at peak times. But if you have a hollow at lunchtime and are not looking at the excessive price of desserts (4 € for a classic white cheese) or the friendliness of the staff, then L’Échiquier should satisfy you. The brasserie is located in the centre of the city, but the concrete buildings of the Palace of the Palais are far from being as picturesque as the old-fashioned monuments of the Old Market…
