This museum is a testimony to the dynamism of the cotton industry in the Cailly Valley in the 19th century.

This former spinning mill (which already replaced an old paper mill) was built in 1822. It is a testimony to the dynamism of the cotton industry in the Cailly Valley in the 19th century. Thanks to an extraordinary restoration, the site has regained all its former splendour. During the visit, it is a former member of the rope factory who will share his passion with you, explaining how it works and showing you around the industrial museum, with machines in operation. Children and adults will find whatever they want by discovering this place that revives an entire era, that of the industrial age... A very informative visit.

Closed on January 1st, May 1st, 1st and November 11th and December 25th. Open every day from 1.30pm to 6pm. Guided tours at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. Free. Free admission in the permanent collections. Guided tour/child workshop: €4. Children welcome. Guided tour. Shop. Activities.

A visit not to be missed if you are in the region of Rouen. For a ridiculous price (£3) and once the machines begun, back in time. We were also receive a very interesting and passionate guide. A beautiful creation in a pretty setting and who can also impassion children. Small video also seen at the end of the visit.

To visit this museum is excellent classes modern history.
The site is superb and the machineries in very good condition. If you are able to visit the machines on the way, you will see the hard work conditions of our ancestors.
