Museum located in the heart of Normandy, housing an incredible collection of period objects including helmets, fire engines...
This Fire Museum is one of the largest in France and is in the heart of Normandy! On 2,500 m2, the entire history of the firefighters reveals itself to you thanks to an incredible collection of vintage objects, and you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the old barracks. Helmets, fire vehicles, a four-wheeled hand pump (which dates back to 1721, and it’s the oldest in France), you will become immersed in this exceptional trade. Many temporary exhibitions are held regularly.

It was a very wet day here today, so we decided to visit the fire engine museum.
We didn't know what to expect, but was good to have a look around. We don't speak much french, but the gentleman on the front desk couldn't have tried harder with us and between our limited french and his limited English we got by.
The exhibits don't have any English translation but they do have an English booklet to guide you around the museum.
It wasn't huge but was interesting enough to see all the old engines and uniforms. We traveled 40 minutes and spent about an hour and a half here. Which was perfect for what we were looking for.
We took a 4 month old and he was content in his buggy there was only one bit he couldn't go to as there were steps so we took him out and carried him. They also have a baby changing facility in the toilets.
