This amphitheatre is the most important Gallo-Roman site north of the Loire to have been archaeologically excavated.
Dating from the 1st century AD, this amphitheatre is the most important Gallo-Roman remains north of the Loire. It is still the subject of archaeological excavations. For the record, it is now certain that many remains lie under the road between the amphitheatre and the Juliobona museum. Today, the Roman Theatre is one of Lillebonne’s most important cultural venues, and regularly organises exhibitions and themed workshops to help visitors discover the local archaeological history.
