Today, the museum houses almost 45,000 works, objects and naturalized animals.

This multi-disciplinary facility, located in a 12,000m2 wasteland in the heart of the rehabilitated Blin district, is home to three centres: a museum, an architectural and heritage interpretation centre, and archives. The museum's collections, built up from 1884 onwards, today represent nearly 45,000 works, objects and animals that have been naturalised. It is an inexhaustible source of wonder for all, thanks in particular to a workshop room where regular activities and temporary exhibitions are organized. A must-see.

We visited today and had an awful experience. From the outside the museum looked closed (most of the lights were still off at 1420h). The receptionist was on the phone when we went in, so the two security staff stood there and did nothing (it seems they cannot issue tickets, and you cannot go into a free museum without free tickets?!) We were then directed up the (fire exit) stairs to the 3rd floor, and were able to see the Seine exhibition, whilst one of the security staff stood watching us. We did not see any other part of the museum, and were practically escorted out of the building. Not at all welcoming for those who want to discover and learn about all this museum has to offer.

La Fabrique des Savoirs est un musée gratuit très hétéroclites et passionnant à visiter. Une partie de son espace est consacrée à des expositions qui changent fréquemment, il ne faut donc pas hésiter à y retourner de temps en temps.
