L'Estran is a 1,600 m² museum and environmental center specializing in coastal zone management.
E.S.T.R.A.N. Cité de la Mer was founded in 1993. The acronym stands for Espace Scientifique et Technique des Ressources Aquatiques et de la Navigation. The word estran also refers to the part of the coastline that is alternately covered at high tide and uncovered at low tide. This eco-museum on Normandy's maritime heritage and environmental education is also an environmental center specializing in the management of coastal areas, and a social center with integration projects. Discover the coastal world through the life of Anita Conti,1st woman oceanographer. Continue your visit on the1st floor, dedicated to the evolution of shipbuilding. Take a journey back in time through the many models, from the construction of a drakkar to the genesis of a trawler. Les aquariums sont petits, certaines espèces semblent avoir trop peu d'espace pour évoluer pleinement. Là encore, il a été difficile de trouver rapidement les informations utiles car celles-ci étaient parfois introuvables.
