Château de Gaillon is one of the earliest treasures of the French Renaissance, built by the archbishop of Rouen, Cardinal Georges d'Amboise, in parallel with those built in the Loire Valley. Dismantled during the French Revolution, transformed into a penitentiary until 1946, it was finally bought by the State in 1975. Since then, a long restoration campaign has been underway. Guided tours, dramatized tours and exhibitions animate the site during the season, allowing visitors to discover all the treasures this building has to offer.

April to November, Tuesday to Sunday only, guided tours at 11am, 2.30pm and 4pm. Tours last approximately 1 hour. Open to the public from 10am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 5:30pm. Free for children under 6. Adults: €7. Reduced rate: from €5. Credit cards not accepted. Guided tour (by the Arc association).
