The view over the ruins of this fortified castle, surrounded by vineyards and lined with plane trees, is splendid. Erected in the 14th century by Raymond Guilhem de Budos, nephew of Pope Clement V, the castle had 5 towers, and a procession was held here on St. George's Day. The dwellings were vast, arranged around the inner courtyard. In medieval times, services and living quarters were distributed by level, but subsequent remodeling has led to a number of redistributions. The Budos ruins are a must-see if you're passing through.
