A brand new concentrate dedicated to the great Comté cheese awaits you in its capital of Poligny with a host of innovations.
The new Polinois interpretation center, accessible to all, offers a superb immersive journey through Comté country, delightfully appealing to the five senses of the whole family. The visit lasts around an hour and a half, and of course ends with a tasting of the famous PDO cheese. But first, you'll discover an astonishing scenography divided into three worlds: "The farm and the milk producer", "The dairy and the cheese maker" and "The cellar and the master ripener". An educational visit not to be missed if you're in the area.

Low season: open daily and on public holidays from 10am to 5pm (last visit at 4:45pm). High season: open daily and on public holidays from 9:30am to 6pm (last visit at 5:15pm). School vacations and public holidays: daily from 10am to 6pm. Cash desk closes at 4:45pm. November - December - January from 10am to 5pm Closes at 4pm. Free for children under 6. Adults: €8.90. Children (aged 6 to 18): €6.50. Reduced rate: €6.70 (students, disabled persons). Preferential rates: 30% discount on presentation of youth card, and €1 discount on presentation of Pass Jura Musée. La Maison du Comté is a museum that welcomes you to a pleasant setting in Poligny, in the heart of the Jura. You'll immediately be charmed by the remarkable architecture of this building, a finalist for the 10th national wood construction prize in 2021. This contemporary-style house revisits the traditional farmhouses of the Haut-Doubs and Haut-Jura regions. Here, you're invited to take an immersive journey into the land of Comté cheese. You'll discover the skills and techniques involved in making Comté cheese, from milk production to maturing. For a fun-filled adventure, this interpretation center features animated models, films and games to delight the little ones. What's more, children will be accompanied by Comtesse, the house's friendly mascot. Your visit to the Maison du Comté will end with a tasting session, a convivial, gourmet experience. An animator-guide will teach you to recognize the tastes and aromas that characterize our cheeses. An interesting address for a family visit!
