ESPLANADE DES RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE, SQUARE IN FRONT OF THE SAINT-JEAN STATION
The Bordeaux train station is a strategic sector of the town; this is why the development of this future intermodal transfer facility aims to organize complementary modes of transport and the transition from one to the other: train, bus, bicycle, tram car. Started in 2007 and completed in 2010, the work at the station include the construction of a pedestrian square in front of the station, a pick-up area and removal of various modes of transport, a reorganization of minute stop and underground car parks, facilities inside the station, arranging a public area by Belcier in order to improve access to the station and the installation of 240 bicycle parking. For your information, the court is called Louis Armand, academician and former managing director of SNCF (in 1949). L'Esplanade des Justes refers to the French who helped the Jews during the Second World War.
