Rue Notre-Dame is undoubtedly one of the most pleasant streets in Bordeaux. This is where Carlos and his team have settled. In this small establishment, coffee is in the spotlight. On the menu, different varieties and methods: espresso, americano, caffè latte, mocha, filter coffee, siphon, cold extraction, affogato al caffè (iced coffee)... You can also buy your coffee : the fruity-vanilla of Guatemala, the floral jasmine blackcurrant of Ethiopia... In addition to the grocery corner, the Pelle Café is equipped with a pretty corner dedicated to coffee machines and their accessories, as well as an imposing roaster, at the back of the shop! For lunch, the establishment transforms itself into a restaurant by offering affordable formulas and a few dishes, vegetarian or not, to enjoy on site or to take away. Be careful, some noontimes, the wait can be a little long. We recommend a generous brunch consisting of a poached egg and grilled bacon, salmon or deli meats, a vegetarian tart, a basket of cheese, seasonal vegetables, fresh fruit juice, a dessert and... a coffee!

Je suis venue un samedi pour tester leur matcha à emporter. J’en bois souvent et j’ai voulu poser quelques questions pour me faire une idée. La personne au comptoir avait l’air un peu surprise, ce que je peux comprendre, alors j’ai décidé de goûter sans trop d’attente. Malheureusement, la couleur était très claire, presque vert menthe, la dose vraiment petite, et le goût n’était pas au rendez-vous. J’ai eu l’impression pendant l’attente que c’était peut-être le premier jour du barista, donc je préfère lui laisser le bénéfice du doute.
C’est dommage, car pour le café, je sais que je peux compter sur eux. Si un petit effort était fait sur le matcha, ce serait un vrai plus. Je le dis avec bienveillance, parce que l’endroit a du potentiel et j’y retournerai malgré tout.
Les 2 cafés arrivent sans sucre et dans la petite tasse une gorgée de café au gout tres amer.
Pas l'habitude de mal noté mais là que ne fut pas notre surprise !
