The youth hostel in Bordeaux is a great success of renovation. The touches of colour add warmth to the building, the premises are clean and the facilities top quality. The cafeteria with a large TV is spacious and available for young people after the breakfast service. The 20 rooms for 4 or 6 people are on two floors. It also offers 10 double rooms rented first and foremost to couples. Except for two, all the outbuildings are equipped with bathroom with shower. Toilets and an additional shower are on the level of each floor. For leisure, Wi-Fi is included in the rates and those who are not equipped can use the self-service computers. You can also have fun with table football. We like the small rooms and the free luggage room service. The rooms are not mixed except for couples.

Nous avons réservé 3 nuits dans une chambre double. Nous avions une salle bain dans la chambre mais les toilettes étaient hors service. Le store de la chambre ne fonctionnait pas et restait donc à moitié baissé. Aussi le linge prêté pour le lit présentait beaucoup de trous. La connexion Wifi n'a jamais fonctionnée. Ces éléments ont été signalés à l'accueil mais le personnel ne pouvait rien y faire. Celui-ci est plutôt agréable et le ménage dans les chambres et parties communes est bien fait. Il est regrettable de ne pas pouvoir rester dans l'auberge et les chambres de 11h à 16h surtout quand il pleut! Enfin le petit déjeuner est vraiment le strict minimum (décevant...). Il est vraiment dommage que cette auberge ne soit pas entretenue et semble sans âme. Elle pourrait vraiment être sympa! En effet, son emplacement est très pratique (près de la gare, transport, centre ville...). Nous savons que pour 50e la nuit il ne faut pas s'attendre à du luxe mais ayant fait plusieurs auberges, il faut quand même un minimum d'entretien des équipements, chambres et les services proposés doivent être operants.

Firstly the staff were super nice but that was as good as it got. Other guests were rude and the place felt rather dilapidated, It could do with knocking down and starting again. We woke up with what I can only assume was a homeless man in the toilet in the hallway but the staff quickly got him out. The breakfast was basic at best and rather minging at worst. The bread was a stale and milk tasted kinda sus. The lady who was working was trying to do her best but if you ask people to make something out of nothing you get nothing.

Ich würde definit wiederkommen, wenn ich mal wieder in Bordeaux bin. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle super freundlich und hilfsbereit (bis auf eine Frau im Frühstücksraum). Und so jemand großartigen wie den Mann von der Rezeption habe ich selten erlebt. (Genaueres unter Nennenswertes) Mit 24,50€ war es mehr als 10€ günstiger als die nächst günstigen Hostels in Bordeaux und dafür war es mehr als in Ordnung. Ja die Zimmer sind etwas spärlich aber für den Preis in Ordnung. Die Zimmerkarte hat auch bei mir nicht funktioniert, aber dafür war ich die erste Nacht alleine im Zimmer (trotzdessen das draußen stand, dass alles ausgebucht ist - vielleicht einfach nur glück). Die Nacht da nach waren wir zu zweit. Leider hatten wir aber nur ein Schlüssel. Die Toilette ist auf dem Flur, Dusche und Waschbecken im Zimmer. Man kann nach Check-out (warscheinlich auch vor Check-in) seine Sachen in einem Raum kostenlos abstellen. Zwischen 11-16 Uhr soll man nicht im Zimmer sein, da in der Zeit die Zimmer gereinigt werden. Es gibt Stadtpläne auf Nachfrage kostenlos.
