Belvedere between Maisod and the Pont de la Pyle, on the edge of the road to the lakes, overlooking the eponymous 130-meter high dam.
Accessible by car, the belvedere is located between Maisod and the Pont de la Pyle, on the edge of the lake road. An admirable view opens up to you, and a landscape interpretation table gives you indications on what the belvedere reveals to you. With 600 millionm3 of water, a surface area of 1,600 hectares and a length of 35 km, Vouglans Lake is the third largest dammed lake in France. The lookout overlooks the 130-meter high dam of the same name and its EDF plant.

En venant de Lons-le-Saunier et pour bénéficier d’une vue extraordinaire sur le lac de Vouglans dans son écrin de verdure qui réjouit le promeneur, je me suis arrêté au « Regardoir » pour une pause qui m’a permis de jouir d’un panorama exceptionnel. Ensuite je me suis rendu au barrage où l’on découvre des explications sur cet ouvrage qui régule les eaux de l’Ain. C’est un site à ne pas manquer !
