Le Clos de l'Echauguette, a place steeped in history offering a superb panorama of Europe's largest estuary at Blaye.

The Citadelle de Blaye offers visitors a superb panoramic view of Europe's largest estuary. Nestled at its heart is a small vineyard well worth a visit. Accessible via a tunnel dug beneath the earthen rampart, Clos de l'Echauguette is steeped in history. Organically farmed, the vineyard is a model of biodiversity: horse-drawn ploughing, manual harvesting, flower-filled fallow... For this Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation vintage, aged in oak barrels, up to 737 bottles are produced (one per vine).
