This route leads you through the Doubs River and its canal to make you discover the importance of water in the region. Indeed, it was the Doubs that tore the plains, even if the floods were feared. The river was used to transport goods, monitored from the castle of Rans. It fed the mills and provided the necessary hydraulic strength to the forges. Place of transportation and work, it was also a fishing and recreational place. All these aspects are mentioned along the trail. Instructive!
