At the heart of the conflicts during the First World War, Massiges is home to several memorial sites: the Virgin with the bees, protector of the village and the soldiers, and a monument in memory of those who died in the fighting in Champagne without a grave, fallen during the fighting at the Main de Massiges. To the north of the village, the Main de Massiges, a natural bastion in the shape of a left hand, dominates the Aisne valley. During the Great War, the site was the scene of terrible fighting. Its ravines, preserved as they are, are open to visitors and still bear witness to the daily life of the soldiers and life on the front.
