House with carved heads on facade, proof of alliance with Léon Bloy's family. Not open to the public.
On the right-hand side of the former Palais de Justice, look up to discover the neo-Renaissance sculptures of the residence built in 1850 by Germain Goudeau, an architect from Périgord. The façade features sculpted heads, proof of the alliance with Léon Bloy's family: in the center, a woman's head, and on either side, two identical male heads. Germain Goudeau was the father of Emile Goudeau, the novelist and poet behind the successful Chat Noir cabaret. In 1855, the house became the headquarters of the Dordogne Chamber of Notaries.
