The Centre Hospitalier de Périgueux provides medical and surgical care, it is the only healthcare establishment in the city to have a maternity ward. It continues its modernization, with a second phase of work in progress since February 2018 ('48.7 million investment). This major project is the logical continuation of the consolidation of the technical platform completed in 2010. In addition to building more modern and welcoming surfaces, the effort is focused on infrastructure adapted to new care organizations: development of alternatives to full hospitalization and ambulatory surgery, consolidation of medical day hospitals as well as intensive care units in cardiology and neurology. Emergencies are of course insured H 24 : 10 care boxes, reception room for vital emergencies, Very Short Term Hospitalization Unit. A service exists in the field of organ donation and transplantation: since 2007, this hospital coordination at PMOT (Multiple Organ and Tissue Sampling) has enabled 216 people to be transplanted (75 donors).
