This was the case for the Benedictine monks of the 11th century who had forgotten their harvest, thus allowing botrytis, the noble rot, to develop. The beginning of a great story! Today, the Monbazillac winery is made up of more than 60 winegrowers who work nearly a third of the appellation. It has evolved with the times and the technology. La Cave de Monbazillac permet de déguster les vins de l'appellation. C'est un bâtiment vitré, qui peut se visiter avec également une boutique dans laquelle la dégustation est possible. On peut déguster différents vins et se faire son propre avis avant d'acheter. Le personnel est très sympathique et avenant.
