Dom-le-Mesnil is known for its yellow ochre and crumbly stone. Nicknamed the stone of Dom by the Ardennes, this stone extracted from the hill overlooking the village, was used for the construction of many buildings around, including the Place Ducale of Charleville-Mézières. These remarkable quarries are no longer active and can be visited freely. From the top of the côte de Dom, you can enjoy a panoramic view of many villages and the Meuse and the coastline that dominates it to the north, up to the Belgian border. Pont-à-Bar, which is situated at the start of the Ardennes Canal, is a popular river port with boat hire.
