For a fascinating immersion in Périgord history, there's nothing like a visit to the Grottes du Roc de Cazelle. This listed site reveals the occupation of this cliff from prehistory to the Middle Ages, with faithful reconstructions of troglodytic dwellings. Prehistoric activities and workshops (flint knapping, thruster shooting, fire lighting, painting) are offered in July and August for a total immersion in the world of our ancestors.
