Conservatoire de la Confiserie, a museum, workshop and store, inviting you to discover the techniques of sugar work.
From Renaud to Brel, France Gall to the movies, candy has always been an integral part of our culture. And with good reason! They flavour our land. Every town has its own speciality, capable of bringing back childhood memories. It's this great history of confectionery that Nicolas Viollet wishes to share, in this unique place in France. It has to be said that he fell into the pot when he was a child! Here, the confectioner's craft has been handed down from generation to generation. A love of sugar and machines, as this enthusiast resurrects and collects over 2,000 pieces, of all sizes, ages and origins. With a desire to contribute to the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage, he has decided to create a museum in 2021, part workshop, part store. In a late 19th-century industrial setting, visitors are invited to discover their ancestral know-how through demonstrations of the day's confections: pastilles, berlingots, dragées, nougats, pralines, calissons... Discover how your favorite sweets are made, and the demanding techniques involved in working with sugar. You'll be able to enjoy a sneak preview of these delicious treats while they're still warm. A sort of appetizer before finding them in the store. This beautiful Amboise address is a real success to be discovered by the whole family, to the delight of children and parents alike!
