MADHOUSE WAZEMMES
The house now has an auditorium that seats 240 in tiers and can accommodate 700 people standing.
Located not far from the Place de la Nouvelle-Aventure, which hosts the Wazemmes market, the Leclercq factory, a 19th century spinning mill closed in 1990, was transformed in 2004 into Maison Folie. The building has an astonishingly sparkling metallic dress. The auditorium now has 240 seats in tiers and can accommodate 700 people standing up. There is also a more intimate room: the Auberge, and an exhibition space on 3 floors, work rooms for artists in residence, workshop rooms, a conviviality room with kitchen and 3 artists' apartments. Also take the time to sit down at the Bulle Café, which offers a quick snack and regular concerts. All this gives an incredible place that combines popular culture and artistic excellence! La Maison Folie is also a landmark for the district where residents gather for friendly events such as sales. A must see place!
