The Eurorégional Centre for Urban Cultures, now renamed FLOW, is a unique place whose missions revolve around five strengths. First, support and accompaniment to artists through workshops, personalized advice and residences. In FLOW, artists are given the keys to progress and enrich their practices. But FLOW is not just about professionals. It offers amateurs and semi-professionals a wide range of awareness, initiation and training projects. Yes, here being amateur does not mean being dilettante! Finally, the Centre is at the heart of a network of several structures, all of which are committed to putting urban cultures, mainly hip hop, on the front of the stage. Through strong times throughout the year, FLOW gives the public the best of contemporary creation. The scenic feats of hip-hop dancers and dance break are breathtaking and restore this culture of nobility. This is also what the current Resource Centre also works for. History, sociological studies, archives… urban cultures are studied and analyzed in the same way as all other forms of art. Proof, if one was needed, that urban cultures deserve public attention!

Aldiouma Baya and the whole Alipha team are waiting for you in Lille to share African culture through the arts. Thanks to its professional dance and percussion instructors, the Alipha association is committed to sharing the different cultures of Africa, from their deepest traditions to the most contemporary, as well as their development within European culture. You'll discover traditional West African steps mixed with more contemporary ones to create a spectacular choreography.

Discover in Lille, €1 the school of urban dances inspired by Africa, the Caribbean and Brazil. Founded by Fischer Jeannine, the school has existed for 3 years now. These dances retranscribe a state of mind, the gestural ones, locations of life, a certain spirit of festival, freedom, sensuality, joy and division. They borrow sometimes from the tradition, but they are firmly anchored in modernity and echo social reality. They are popular dances as one likes, in the direction where they express all the creativity and the artistic boiling which is born and opens out in the middle of the cities, in Africa (Western and Center), in the Caribbean and Brazil. They energetic, enduring, are jerked and swayed. They leave free with the creativity.
Because all the idea here is to connect with energy from the ground, to relax your body and spirit, through dance, dance with its heart, let yourself go, liberation its sensuality!

The concept of the Square Galleries, which are present throughout France, is very simple: make contemporary art accessible to all. In spaces dedicated to artistic creation, Square of artists offers a very wide choice of original and authentic works. Each gallery has different creators. If the size of the square is imposed, the choice of theme, technique and rendering is entirely free. Everything is done to support artists and their creations by allowing them to meet a public, whose satisfaction is the first ambition of the galleries. L'Improvisible is a contemporary dance school in Lille. It offers courses for adults all year round, with the exception of vacation periods. Timetables vary according to level and day of the week. Course fees vary according to duration, with reduced rates for students and RSA recipients. It is advisable to contact the school before taking part in a course.
