JARDIN DES DRÔLES D'WAZ'EAUX
Since 2002, the inhabitants concerned have been organizing this 950 m ² site, which has long been an ancient urban wasteland. With their care, she became a lovely organic community vegetable garden, but also a wild meadow. Space has a rainwater recovery system, dry toilets, a greenhouse, a mountain hedge of regional essences, a compost corner and a self-friendly shelter self-built in HQE (high environmental quality), bread oven… It is a living place where people are happy to find themselves. Workshops and trainings take place as a natural gardening training or a bread kiln workshop. This shared garden is part of the AJONC network. A way to symbolize the renewal of the entire Wazemmes neighbourhood, once left behind, is a place where vague lands and dilapidated homes congregate. Today, this Lille sector is full of dynamism: under the leadership of the town hall and the associations, green spaces and artistic centres, the inhabitants of the town are the most pleasant visitors.
