The most beautiful natural sites to discover Balearic Islands

It is advisable to go out of the summer to enjoy this charming island, still preserved from the concrete on its half-west half where the wild coastline is splendid. It cannot be said that this is the paradise of naturism: You have to run out of Its Salines With Beach, which is loud, noisy and very «fashion» except at its end where you find quieter coves, or that of Es Cavallet frequented by Gays. We can find isolated coves by walking a little and then there is the official beach of Aiguas Blancas to the northeast of the island, succession of coves at the foot of cliffs, sheltered from the wind: paradise. Also the cala d'En Serra nearby. In short, as soon as we leave urbanized centres in the south-east, there is a preserved coastline to discover.

If you decide to head for the famous Cala Macarella, chances are you'll come across the Torralba vineyards along the way. Perhaps the youngest estate on the island, Torralba has been cultivating a characterful wine for just a few years now, and the future looks bright. For the moment, you can taste two products: a full-bodied red and a light, more mineral rosé. Guided tours are also available to learn more about the secrets of winemaking.

Heading south from Ciutadella, on the left you'll find the road leading to the Binitord winery. Launched by Bernadette, Joan, Toni and Sisca in 2002, the winery produced its first bottles in 2007.
