Situated on a cliff facing El Bajoncillo beach, this small palace was built in the th century in neo-mudéjar style, a flourishing architectural style in Spain of the late th century. Renovated and reopened in 2014, it now became an emblematic part of Torremolinos. The building has two floors, the ground floor being the place of accommodation with rooms, office, dining room, kitchen, and above all an interior decoration imitating that of the Alhambra of Granada. On the first floor, it serves as a cross towards the coast. On the outside you will notice its two side towers as well as its main portico. Built at the request of Antonio Navajas, enriched in the culture of sugar cane, this Casa sheltered three generations of the Navajas family before becoming municipal heritage in 2000.

TOWN HALL - AYUNTAMIENTO

Located on Plaza Vieja, or Plaza de la Constitución, whose final appearance dates back to the middle of the 19th century, this building was built in 1899. Its cream and pink facade is charming. Access, strongly recommended, is via a small street or passages in arcades. In the centre, we will find the monument to the martyrs of freedom, an obelisk dedicated to the 24 liberals fighting against the despotism of Fernando VII and shot on 24 August 1824. If you spend this day there, you will be surprised to hear the Marseillaise accompany this commemoration.

AYUNTAMIENTO - POMEGRANATE CITY HALL

Public buildings to visit

The current building of the town hall is located on the former convent of the carmen of Granada. A 16th and 17th century convent organized around two cloisters, the new and the old, the church being leaning against the new cloister on the northeast side. Their destruction after the defamation of Mendizábal, a process of secularization of the church's property in the 19th century, created the current space of Plaza del Carmen. Of the old building, only the new cloister remains, inside the town hall. You cannot visit it, at most you can take a look at it by going to the city's tourist office, located on the ground floor of the town hall. It is the daily starting point for many tapeo tours to Calle Navas and its surroundings, and is also the site of many demonstrations, protests and celebrations, since the arrival of the New Year is celebrated there, for example, with all the necessary grapes, cotillion and fireworks.
