This recent station now concentrates all rail traffic. To all the provincial capitals, with 3 to 10 trains per day depending on the destination. Via so-called "media distancia" trains, but also fast trains such as the Ave, the equivalent of our TGV to Madrid (about 2h30) or Barcelona (about 5h30). This station also allows you to take the cercanias, between our RER and TER trains, to reach the province of Seville, with destinations like Dos Hermanas or Utrera. Located to the west of Granada, via the Avenida de la Constitución. After 10 years of construction work and numerous delays, due in part to the very particular topography of the surrounding area, the AVE, the equivalent of the TGV, arrived in Granada on June 25, 2019, on a journey from Madrid, inaugurated by Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government. With 3 daily trains to Madrid (approx. 3h30) and 1 to Barcelona. With transfers to Malaga (Antequera) and Seville (Cordoba), and direct trains via "Avant" trains. Trains to Almeria (via Guadix).

Several direct trains for Cordoba, Seville, Valencia, Madrid (with AVE, high speed train, Talgo 200 or slower trains), Barcelona. Some trains for Algesiras (via Ronda) or Granada (via Antequera) with change to Bobadilla (via El Chorro). As for the project to extend line C 1 to Estepona and to link Nerja by train, it is not scheduled until 2015-2020.

ESTACIÓN INTERMODAL

Train

The train station is linked to the bus station: an intermodal station. On paper, 4 direct trains to Granada (via Guadix) and Seville (via Antequera and Osuna), a few connections to Barcelona and especially Madrid. Under construction for several months, journeys end up by bus on arrival in Almeria, which is best avoided. Instead, use the bus station. For international connections, the Movelia and Flixbus companies are available. For connections to the rest of the province, Alsa/ Alsina Graellls sur.

GARE FERROVIAIRE – RENFE

Train

From now on, you won't be arriving at a pretty19th-century neo-Mudejar station, as the city now has a brand-new station that required an investment of 46.2 million euros. It opened on April 25, 2018, with the arrival of the first distancia media from Seville. Today, a new 1,200-square-meter terminal is up and running, complete with various facilities (cafeteria, parking). As for the old station, it is due to be converted into a museum, but no specific date has been set.

Since May 2012, the train from the south of Spain has been back on the rails, with its 1920s-style cars completely renovated. There will be a bar, a tea room and two restaurant cars to complement the cabins with bathrooms and thus make a journey to the heart of Andalusia. In these restaurants, you will be able to select from the menu the most representative flavors of the lands we cross.
