BROOKLYN INFORMATION & CULTURE (BRIC)
Read moreThis association (not for profit) was created in 1979 to help promote culture, education and information in Brooklyn, but if you are looking for tourist information, you will have to go to the tourist office in Manhattan (BRIC should, however, be able to advise you on the cru guides to visit Brooklyn). They also organize three very interesting thematic circuits to book on their Internet site - www.nycvisit.com - Each tour costs about $ 40 and lasts a whole day, a very good deal:
Discover Brooklyn will make you a presentation of Brooklyn's Emblematic neighborhoods (Park Slope, Little Odessa, Bensonhurst - remember the Italian Night Fever district). Dinner is included, at the choice, in two of Brooklyn's most famous restaurants: Pete's Downtown Restaurant (Italian) or Junior's Restaurant (known in all the United States for its impossible sandwiches and cheesecake).
Brooklyn Art and Garden Tourvous will take in two of Brooklyn's inescapable points of interest: the charming Botanical Garden (more than 12 000 plants on 21 ha) and the Brooklyn Museum of Art (2nd largest museum in the United States behind the REACH of Manhattan), including an exceptional collection on Ancient Egypt. Two "ethnic" towers will bring you to the choice of Afro-Americans or hassidic Orthodox Jews.
The BRIC is also a very active association, providing comprehensive documentation and doing much for the rehabilitation, development and knowledge of Brooklyn. It must be said that, in the shadow of Manhattan, Brooklyn has much to show and propose that you will not be able to see anywhere else.

STONE CHURCH
Read moreThis geological formation, carved for thousands of years by the stream that still snakes through it, is the subject of many legends in the region. It is a cave whose triangular entrance evokes the vaulted window of a Gothic cathedral. Inside is a ten-metre high waterfall, more or less impressive depending on the power of the current. When the sun's rays penetrate, it seems as if the water sparkles. According to local legend, this cave was the refuge of the Amerindian chief Sachem Sassacus and his tribe, who hid there following a conflict with the English in 1636. It takes about a kilometre to walk to Stone Church. The trail starts at Route 22, there is a sign that is easy to miss, so don't hesitate to ask for directions: everyone knows Stone Church. Please note that there is no parking on site but visitors are allowed to park at the Dove Elementary School parking lot when there is no school or, if there is a school, at the Freshco 22 Plaza restaurant parking lot.
HIGH FALLS
Read moreRochester's impressive waterfalls have contributed greatly to the city's industrial development. While the days when the factories and flour mills of Monroe County used their power are over, their hydroelectric energy is still being used today. The best view of the Falls is from the bridge across the Genesee River, which was named Pont de Rennes because, interestingly enough, the Breton capital was twinned with Rochester in 1956! For more information, you will find an interpretation centre with brochures and a small museum on site.
GENESEE COUNTRY VILLAGE AND MUSEUM
Read moreThis is a reproduction of a 19th century village, with 68 period buildings that have been restored. Most of them have been moved here from other villages in New York State. We walk freely between cottages, colonial houses, shops, the church or the opera house. It is possible to enter some buildings. You will meet characters in period costumes chatting, going to the farm or brewery, and will be able to chat with them. The buildings are grouped chronologically: the oldest is a cottage from 1797, the most recent is the Opera House, built in 1884. A visit that will please the whole family. Don't miss the Nature Center, which includes hectares of forest and six hiking trails.
ALBRIGHT-KNOX ART GALLERY
Read moreThe city's Art Museum is best known for its collections of modern and contemporary art, although works from all periods can be admired. It has been open since 1905. To see, works by Picasso, George Braque, Frida Kahlo, but also Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol and Arshile Gorky. Don't miss Anselm Kiefer's Die Milchstrasse, a large canvas that is not clear whether it represents the galaxy or a desolate battlefield. Free guided tours are offered from Thursday to Sunday at 1:30 pm. Additional visits every Saturday at 3:30 pm, and on the first Friday of the month at 4:30 pm.
LETCHWORTH STATE PARK
Read moreThe park is home to three waterfalls that flow into the Genesee River, Upper Falls, Middle Falls and Lower Falls. The river flows along gorges that reach 170 m in places, a feature that has earned the park the nickname of "Grand Canyon of the East". On sunny days, people come to camp, hike on its 66 miles of trails in the middle of the forest, fish, kayak, raft, horse... In winter, when the landscape is covered with snow, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing become the preferred activities.
LONG BEACH BOARDWALK
Read moreDevastated after Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012, the Long Beach Parkway was completely rebuilt the following year. It is 2.2 miles long. Unlike many American-style boardwalks, it is not bordered by shops or restaurants, which gives it a calm and authentic feel. We come to walk, jog, cycle or enjoy the sunset from the wooden benches facing the ocean.
SARATOGA SPA STATE PARK
Read moreIf you have limited time on site, Saratoga Spa State Park will give you an excellent overview of the city and its many assets. This 890-hectare park is home to several springs, including State Seal and Geyser Spring, both located near Joseph Bruno Pavilion. For a moment of relaxation, Roosevelt Baths & Spa, located within the park, offers treatments and baths with water sourced from Saratoga Springs. Hiking trails and swimming pools are also part of the park. As for culture, there are two museums to visit: the Saratoga Automobile Museum and the National Museum of Dance.
DITCH PLAINS BEACH
Read moreAlongside cliffs, Ditch Plains Beach is the most beautiful beach in Montauk. It is also a very popular spot for surfers, who visit it all year round. Although it is very popular, it is rarely overcrowded because parking opportunities are relatively limited. If you can, try to get there on foot from your hotel or by taxi.

Read moreThis pleasant beach is the most accessible in Montauk. Many visitors walk from their hotels and then leave for a snack in the area. Parking is free of charge.
JOKER STAIRS
Read moreHere's the attraction that has been moving crowds to the Bronx since October 2019: the steps that appear in Todd Phillips' movie Joker, on which Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), in the guise of his alter ego Joker, undertakes some memorable dance steps. For movie buffs and influencers, these walks have become an almost unavoidable part of a trip to New York City. At any time of the day, at least a dozen of them reproduce the Joker's dance under the half-amused, half-agacious gaze of the inhabitants of the neighbourhood.
ADIRONDACKS HIGH PEAKS
Read moreHigh Peaks are the 46 mountains of the Adirondack Range. The highest point in the park is Mount Marcy, which rises to 1,629 metres, followed by Algonquin Peak (1,559 m), Mount Haystack (1,510 m) and Mount Skylight (1,501 m). Those who managed to climb the 46 mountains gave themselves the nickname Forty-Sixers (46ers). Hiking trails bypass the mountains and others allow you to reach their summit. The Van Hoevenberg Trail is a 14-mile round trip trail that leads to the top of Mount Marcy. It takes between 6 and 10 hours of hiking depending on your physical condition.
CRANBERRY LAKE
Read moreCranberry Lake is the third largest lake in Adirondack Park, and one of the most beautiful. With the 50 miles of trails that surround it and make up the Cranberry Lake Loop, it is particularly suitable for hiking, whatever your level. Hiking trails include the Burnt Bridge Pond Trail (7 miles), Olmstead Pond Trail (3.2 miles) and Bear Mountain Trail (2.7 miles). You can also fish in the lake, boating and, in winter, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the area.

In addition to its exceptional panoramic view, this park is a true haven of tranquility. You come to enjoy its long walk by the water, picnic on its lawns, rest on its deckchairs...
