The city's Art Museum is best known for its collections of modern and contemporary art, although works from all periods can be admired. It has been open since 1905. To see, works by Picasso, George Braque, Frida Kahlo, but also Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol and Arshile Gorky. Don't miss Anselm Kiefer's Die Milchstrasse, a large canvas that is not clear whether it represents the galaxy or a desolate battlefield. Free guided tours are offered from Thursday to Sunday at 1:30 pm. Additional visits every Saturday at 3:30 pm, and on the first Friday of the month at 4:30 pm.
