Both a traditional restaurant and a wine shop, Fuori Porta is one of the best places to discover the world of Tuscan wine. Located in the San Niccolò district, at the foot of the road leading to piazza Michelangelo, this boutique, in business since 1987, boasts a pleasant terrace and an excellent wine list of over 300 wines, with an annual rotation of almost 200 labels! And it's open until 11 p.m.! An inviting place to discover before climbing up to Florence's famous belvedere.

Located on a site that is more than 300 years old, Vignavecchia combines tradition and modernity on all its 19 hectares of land, three quarters of which is dedicated to the production of Chianti Classico. The property, planted on the round back of a hill, enjoys an exceptional panoramic view. 1996 was a crucial year as the fermentation and bottling workshops were moved from the basements to a restored old farmhouse. It is better to book, because if not, it is not sure that the welcome will be very friendly....

This cellar, run by Gabriella, Emiliano and Leandro Alessi, has an annual production of 100,000 litres. The red house is unmistakable in the middle of the vineyards surrounded by cypress trees, a postcard landscape. It is difficult to mention one wine rather than another, the house accumulating prizes at the various fairs and international exhibitions. O'leondro (95% sangiovese, 5% cabernet sauvignon), or Etrusco wine (100% sangiovese) will surprise you, as will Mammolo (100% merlot) or Sogno dell'uva (50% cabernet sauvignon, 50% merlot).

An essential stopover for wine lovers, and especially for those who appreciate the local craft tradition. Here, visits to the farm are made by reservation and with the family. There is nothing better than to dive into the heart of the history of the local vineyard. The agritourism also offers four country houses and seven apartments for rent in the surrounding area. The main house dates back to 1873, still run by the same family. Some of the farm's wines even still ferment in the old cellars.

A small family-run estate specialising in the cultivation of vineyards, olive groves and saffron. Remaining faithful to the tradition of the terroir and its family, even today, it remains a reference for its products, all certified with the organic label. Its high quality wines are made from ancient native grape varieties such as Vernaccia de San Gimignano, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo. To discover its flavour and richness, the owners organise wine and extra-virgin olive oil tastings, accompanied by cheese and charcuterie.

Another property of the illustrious Falorni family, this huge wine shop, located in the basement, offers no less than 150 different labels. And tasting is perfectly regulated. All you have to do is buy a card and insert it into a machine that will itself serve the dose(s) of the desired wine(s). Very modern, but hello the seller-customer relationship.... It is not here that the visitor will get the best advice. On the other hand, with such a mass of bottles, the prices are quite correct.
