A drink on the beach in Florence? No, it's not a joke, but just the Easy Living association which animates the banks of the Arno in summer and takes advantage of the only small sandy strip in the city, near Piazza Giuseppe Poggi, to offer a large number of attractions and theme evenings. Some local artists come to paint during the day, and yoga classes are often offered. In the evening, an outdoor bar provides customers with cocktails and pizzas. A very special atmosphere, like nowhere else in Florence.

This is a trendy but relaxed address, hidden in the shade of a quiet little square (piazzetta), between Arno and Borgo Santi Apostoli Street. On the terrace, the colourful recovery chairs, all different, attract the eye and curiosity. To fill up with vitamins, their fresh fruit juices, generous smoothies, should delight you. Otherwise, you can eat excellent sandwiches (to compose yourself), freshly prepared salads or sip a spritz or other cocktail away from the hordes of tourists.

Located between Piazza Strozzi and Piazza della Repubblica, the Yab has remained one of Florence's trendy clubs since it opened in 1979. Five evenings a week, a different theme animates the debates and keeps the partygoers moving until the early hours of the morning on the (small) dance floor. Rather eclectic music, like the clientele at different ages. Remember that every Monday, hip-hop invades Yab. The price of consumption, on the other hand, is not the most complicit. For the atmosphere, come around 11:30 pm, or earlier to avoid the sometimes long wait.

The Space Club, opened in 1969, is a five-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella Station and has the largest dance floor in the city centre. With its huge neon light escaping from the facade, it is impossible to miss it in the street. Attention! The place looks a little like a factory to celebrate. Very commercial and touristic. However, the Space is often full and the atmosphere is often overheated. For all those who love big parties and get green and purple neon lights in their heads!

Everyone here knows this bar. Incredible list of cocktails available, live concerts, vintage decoration... all the ingredients are gathered for the sauce to set. In a Florence increasingly invaded by the lounge trend, the Rex stands out for its uniqueness and a preference for rock music and attic bottoms. People come here to dance or have a drink in one of the large leather armchairs. The audience is eclectic: all ages and styles can meet each other without a hitch. Come around 10pm.

At the time of the aperitif, it is especially important not to miss the excellent Vernaccia de San Gimignano, a dry white wine which, according to legend, was highly appreciated by kings and popes. The shaded inner courtyard of this wine cellar, under a large tree, is very pleasant. The modern furniture blends perfectly with the stone and the old style of the room, thanks to a clever lighting system. Excellent atmosphere. For those who do not have a great appetite, the wine tasting accompaniments will be more than enough.

Modern décor, dynamic staff, wide range of local products, Mamma Mia has all the ingredients for a good time. Visitors looking for tasting will not be disappointed. This bar is so complete that it is possible to leave on tests of rum rather than wine. Lunch or dinner is also possible, with the chef offering one or two different dishes every day.

Enlarge, the restaurant and its terrace occupy almost all the space of Piazza della Vittoria. Wine tasting, ice cream, pastry… you can find everything you need to eat or a little sweet. On the map, nothing exceptional for a restaurant with such potential. It's a pity that you would have liked to taste the culinary tests of seafood or fish, given the geographical situation of Castiglioncello. However, the dishes offered are very good.

This address is undoubtedly distinguished from the rest thanks to the very successful combination of its terrace. Inside, another thirty tables are available. But taking into account the tranquillity of the square, it is advisable to settle outside. On the culinary side, all the addresses of the square are valid, with a preference for it.

All that is simpler… and cheaper on the square to get a little slack.

In piazza della Pera (or Gambacorti), Chicchessia is a cocktail bar with a well-stocked buffet at aperitif time.
